#1 WHY THIS DARTH VADER STYLED BOWL?
Shape of the enclosure has a vital role in the performance of the loudspeaker. Moving of speakers causes sound waves with very complex mixture in terms of frequency, amplitude, phase etc. If the shape is rectangular with parallel walls at certain frequencies two bad things may happen: the walls will start to vibrate due to interference and they will act as additional speakers, but without control. So the general sound will be unpredictable mix of the sound caused by the speakers and enclosure’s walls. Second: standing waves will occur inside the cabinet which will raise enormously certain frequencies and will defeat other. So, why most of the loudspeakers have a shape like kitchen cabinets? Because it’s easy and cheap to do and many loudspeakers manufacturers do not manufacture the enclosures indeed but over source them to cabinets manufacturers. We decided to go to the difficult way: we chose a shape which prevents both a.m. phenomenon. This shape is oval.

Terra Mk4 is the fourth generation of our most applauded loudspeaker. Started in 2002 and now 15 years later we have only one goal: to improve it. The enclosure of Terra Mk4 is optimised to take the best of the laws of physics and houses powerful and perfectly tuned engine: 150W RMS woofer with 2,5” voice coil, patented neodymium magnet system, hexatech voice coil technology (the coil is wound using hexagonal wire instead of round one) and 1” neodymium tweeter with phase plug. And this is not all: control on the sensitivity of the tweeter can pump it up to + 6 dB or cut it down. Using this feature you can perfectly tune Terra Mk4 Special Edition to the room acoustics and the sound material you play. When listen Terra Mk4 you will be surprised. Your first question will be: how such small speaker can have such big sound? And you will be not the first surprised. Now we have thousands happy customers and it is most likely each one of them to ask this question.

After the prototype is ready we spend numerous hours in the anechoic chamber and we refine step by step the sound until we feel that this is it!
