#1 WHY EGG SHAPED ENCLOSURE?
Shape of the enclosure has a vital role in the performance of the loudspeaker. Moving of speakers causes sound waves with very complex mixture in terms of frequency, amplitude, phase etc. If the shape is rectangular with parallel walls at certain frequencies two bad things may happen: the walls will start to vibrate due to interference and they will act as additional speakers, but without control. So the general sound will be unpredictable mix of the sound caused by the speakers and enclosure’s walls. Second: standing waves will occur inside the cabinet which will raise enormously certain frequencies and will defeat other. So, why most of the loudspeakers have a shape like kitchen cabinets? Because it’s easy and cheap to do and many loudspeakers manufacturers do not manufacture the enclosures indeed but over source them to cabinets manufacturers. We decided to go to the difficult way: we chose a shape which prevents both a.m. phenomenon. This shape is oval.

Venus Mk4 takes the best from the extremely rigid egg shaped cast aluminium enclosure. The enclosure guarantee non resonance and standing waves free performance of the studio quality speakers. We used 5” studio mid/woofer with aluminium basket and rubber surround and 1” neodymium tweeter with phase plug, mounted coaxially. This plus the horn mounted in front of the tweeter ensures uniform sound in any acoustical environment which makes Venus Mk4 especially suitable for public spaces like stores, cafes, venues etc. In addition Venus Mk4 is powerful. Each one delivers 100W RMS, which makes it dependable and ready for a hard work. If you need even more power, you can mount as many Venus Mk4s as you want in line array set up.
